Chatter

12/14/2001 — I started the Chatter section on July 27, 2000 when I noticed that the rest of my site was sometimes getting cluttered with lots of text. I'm a talkative guy, after all! So now I talk about my life here, instead of all over the place. Originally this was one huge section, but in December of 2001 it simply became too large to remain as one page, and I broke it into dated sections, as you can see. If you want to search the huge pre-breakup documents, I've preserved them both at the bottom of the list. —>PM

In August 2006 I replaced Chatter with my journal (or "blog", if you prefer), at ~~LiveJournal~~ Dreamwidth . But although I did write some posts about roleplaying, far more of them were about my son, or politics, or other non-gaming topics. I also have a blog about the Massachusetts commuter rail system that received some coverage in the press. It's called Charlie On The Commuter Rail. But I haven't been using it since I stopped commuting.

In June of 2008, after nearly a year of inactivity on the site, I started working on it again. And I realized that Chatter filled a necessary purpose. But it needed a change. Making every entry into a separate page was a lot of unnecessary work - and my time is much more limited than it used to be. So I've created a new Chatter page, modeled on the old archives. I'll put new entries at the top of the page, pushing older entries downward. And when the page gets too long, I'll create a new one.

I'll still write about roleplaying on my DreamWidth, but the new Chatter is where I'll be writing about this site.
